Jury Grants
Our largest grantmaking pool, Jury Grants support films in all stages of production. JSP accepts applications through our annual open call, and a rotating panel of esteemed filmmakers and experts selects projects for funding from this pool. Past jurors have included: Director Julie Cohen (RBG, Julia), Producer Julie Goldman (The Return of Tanya Tucker; The Velvet Underground; Love, Gilda), Film Executive Dylan Leiner (Senior Executive Vice President, Sony Pictures Classics), Director/Producer Dawn Porter (The Ladybird Diaries, John Lewis: Good Trouble), Film Financier Jenny Raskin (Executive Director, Impact Partners), and Film Curator Kim Yutani (Director of Programming, Sundance Film Festival). Reprise Grants
When significant progress has been made on a project already granted by JSP in a previous funding cycle, we will consider deepening our investment by making a second grant.
Discretionary Grants
From time to time, JSP’s Co-Executive Directors award smaller Discretionary Grants to compelling projects at strategic points in their process. These discretionary grantees, along with our jury grantees, are welcomed into our Continuum of Support program and given access to high-level expertise from JSP staff members and hired advisors.
