Phyllis F. Klein
Phyllis F. Klein is a nationally recognized real estate finance executive and civic leader with more than 35 years of experience in multifamily housing, affordable housing, and community development. She recently retired as Senior Vice President, Real Estate Capital at Capital One after a distinguished career that also included executive leadership positions at Fannie Mae, the California State Treasurer’s Office, Wells Fargo, and Union Bank.
Beyond her professional career, Phyllis has been deeply committed to Jewish communal life and the arts. She previously served as President of Temple Israel of Hollywood as well as holding several other leadership positions. She is currently a docent at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), where she shares her passion for art with museum visitors. Phyllis was also appointed by Mayor Karen Bass to the Los Angeles Citywide Planning Commission bringing her finance skills to the challenges of development in the City. She holds an MBA from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.
Phyllis believes that art, culture, and Jewish tradition have the power to inspire dialogue, strengthen community, and connect people across generations.
