Director

Abraham (Abie) Troen is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. He’s lensed and led film projects across Israel, Kenya, India, the U.S., and Canada, with work for Netflix, BBC, ARTE, Vanity Fair, and more, screened at Tribeca, TIFF, SXSW, DOC NYC and IDFA and supported by the Sundance Institute, Jewish Story Partners, Jewish Film Institute, IDA, Bertha, DOC Society and more. Abie studied film at the Sam Spiegel School in Jerusalem, earned a BA at Brandeis (Phi Beta Kappa) and an MFA from USC, where he received the Annenberg Fellowship. His films include Just Sing, Finding Home and ’Til Kingdom Come. He was selected as one of the 2026 filmmakers in residence for the Jewish Film Institute. Family Pictures will be his second feature documentary as a director.

Rebecca Lichtenfeld is an Emmy Award–winning producer and impact strategist driven by the belief that media and the arts are powerful tools for advancing human rights. For over two decades, she has led creative advocacy initiatives, collaborating with filmmakers, artists, policymakers, and grassroots organizers around the world. A commitment to the power of storytelling runs through all of her work. Becky currently serves as Executive Director of the InMaat Foundation, supporting organizations and projects that challenge and dismantle systemic gender oppression. Previously, she launched and led the Storytelling portfolio at the Bertha Foundation. She is Executive Producer on several award-winning and Oscar nominated films, including The Eternal Memory, Come See Me in the Good Light, and Cutting Through Rocks. Becky is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
