With intimate access to one of the world’s leading groups tracking extremism, Two Minutes of Hate follows global trends in digital disinformation as they unfold, with particular emphasis on disinformation surrounding the Israel-Hamas conflict. Through three portraits of personal relationships, in three democracies worldwide, it reveals the human cost.

Rachel Boynton

Rachel Boynton - Director, Producer

Rachel Boynton produced and directed the feature-length documentary Big Men, which was executive produced by Brad Pitt. Nominated for three News and Documentary Emmy Awards including Best Documentary, the film screened at festivals worldwide including Tribeca, HotDocs, and Locarno, aired internationally on the BBC, ARTE, and VPRO among others and was televised in the US on PBS’s POV. Boynton’s documentary Our Brand Is Crisis won the IDA’s Best Feature Documentary Award and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. George Clooney’s company, Smokehouse, remade Our Brand Is Crisis as a fiction feature; Warner Brothers released the fictional version in 2015. Her most recent feature, Civil War (Or, Who Do We Think We Are), was executive produced by Brad Pitt and Henry Louis Gates, Jr. It premiered on MSNBC in 2021 and continues to air nationally. Rachel is also a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Yael Melamede

Yael Melamede - Producer

Yael Melamede is the co-founder of SALTY Features—an independent production company based in New York City whose goal is to create media that is thought-provoking, vital, and enhances the world. Melamede’s documentary credits include Floyd Abrams: Speaking Freely (PBS/American Masters 2023), Pay Or Die (MTV Films 2023), 1341 Frames of Love and War (2022), the Jigsaw Productions/Amblin Entertainment six-part series Why We Hate (Discovery 2019), When I Walk (News & Documentary Emmy Award Winner – ITVS 2015), (Dis)Honesty: The Truth About Lies (CNBS 2015), Inocente (Academy Award Winner, Best Doc Short, MTV 2013), Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (IFC 2009), and My Architect (Academy Award Nominee, HBO and New Yorker Films 2004). Yael was an architect before becoming a filmmaker. She is on the Board of Union Docs and is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Tereza Simikova

Tereza Simikova - Producer

Tereza Simikova at Caliber Pictures, is a producer, filmmaker, and consultant. Since 2016, she has served as the International Program Consultant of Chicken and Egg Pictures, curating international financing, distribution and festival strategies for its grantees. Simultaneously, she has worked as Head of Forum and Head of Industry & Training at CPH:DOX (2018-23). Tereza has served as Program Manager of the international rough-cut workshop dok.incubator (2012-16) and was the Head of East Doc Platform, the largest co-production market and pitching forum in the Central and Eastern European region (2016-18). Tereza has been a member of a number of programming committees (e.g. IDFA, Karlovy Vary IFF, Doc Society, Malta Film Commission), and has mentored at international documentary workshops (eave on demand, Documentary Campus, Ex Oriente Film, Doc Lab Poland, Doc Lab Tel Aviv). She received a Master’s in documentary directing from FAMU, Prague.
