Lynn Kroll

Born in New York City, Lynn graduated from Cornell University in 1965 with a major in Spanish Literature and a minor in Latin American Studies. Between 1965-71, she broadened her education and commitment to public service by working on political campaigns, in a poverty program, a minority economic development initiative and a mental health agency. She also worked for Dorothy Schiff, the owner of The New York Post, and for a literary agent. She was the production assistant for an off-off Broadway play, called “Neverfollow” about necrophilia! In 1968, Lynn married Jules Kroll who, after his failed run for political office, went on to establish Kroll, Inc and several other firms, and is widely credited as the founder of the modern corporate investigations industry.  Lynn gave birth to their four children between the years 1971-78. According to Lynn she loved raising her children and says “they were my focus and truly required hard work and dedication.”  While her children were young, Lynn volunteered at their schools and sat on the boards of local mental health agencies as well as the board of an art center. As her kids got older, Lynn became more involved in city-wide, national and international Jewish affairs. Since the 1980s, she has served and held Executive Committee positions on many boards including: Solomon Schechter School of Westchester, Georgetown University Board of Regents, Cornell University Hillel, American Jewish Committee, UJA-Federation of New York, Executive Committee, and Vice-Chair, Jewish Agency for Israel, National UJA, Plaza Jewish Community Chapel, Jewish Communal Fund, President and Chair of Board of the National Foundation for Jewish Culture , Chair of Executive Committee, and currently Vice-President of The Jewish Board of Family and Children’s Services.
